Pupils and Parents at Gemcanton Community School gasped and screamed in excitement at the sight of the great Chairman Mr Abdoulaye Ndiaye locally known as Papa Gounasse. He has largely helped the people of Lufwanyama and Pilala in terms of Development therefore, the excitement.
One of the major things that Mr Ndiaye has done for the people of Pilala is the building of Gemcanton Community School and establishing a Mine that has employed hundreds of local people as well as his group of companies empower through Corporate Social Responsibility.
The visit to the school was of motivation to the School and community, hear from them, find out what they are interested in and strengthen the bonding.
Dance and songs, indigenously, was the way of collective, creative and joyful expression the kids prepared for the chairman and his entourage. Other arts included acts of poetry and story-telling on the importance of Education.

Dances and songs played a central role in purely expressing their appreciation towards the entourage.
On this day, the whole community of Pilala trembled as hundreds of scores of people gathered at the School to witness what could be termed as a milestone for Pilala Community as kids showcased various talents in front of Papa Gounasse.
The Chairman`s entourage was also joined by Gemcanton Managers Which Included the Mine Manager Mr Langson Mukuma, Mr Davy. S. Phiri the Human Resources Manager, Mr Stanley Chasauka the Manager for Geology, Mr Misheck Sichilyango the Safety, Health, Environment and Quality Manager, Mr Musole Mutonga the Security Manager among other members of staff.

Speaking at the event, the Human Resources Manager Mr Davy S Phiri On behalf of Gemcanton Management and Community School, “I want to begin by thanking the Chairman for his strong support and encouragement for building Gemcanton primary School.”
