‘Perfect Honeymoons’ Makes Travel and Leisure Magazine’s A-List as Top Travel Agent in the Business

Charleston, SC – Perfect Honeymoons, a small boutique family-owned travel agency located in Charleston, has been selected as one of the top travel agents in the U.S. by Travel and Leisure Magazine in their Annual A-List for the third year running, under the category of ‘honeymoons.’ Winners of this prestigious award are selected based on unique itineraries, exclusive access, and positive client testimonials. The magazine also looks for professionals who travel often to the destinations they specialize in, and who make a concerted effort to deliver more than their clients expect.

Perfect Honeymoons President Jim Augerinos is delighted by the news of the award:

“The agents listed for this award are the cream of the crop in the travel business. I am honored to be among them.”

Perfect Honeymoons curates custom honeymoons that best fit the newlywed couple’s dreams, style, and budget. Focusing exclusively on romantic and adventure getaways, destinations typically include the Seychelles, South Africa, Thailand, French Polynesia, Fiji, Costa Rica, Hawaii, Greece, and Italy. Augerinos plans about 300 custom honeymoons a year and has personally visited over 60 countries, which include the destinations he recommends to his clients:

“I provide them with insider tips on where to eat, what beaches to visit, and what cool hikes to do. I am in essence my clients’ human TripAdvisor!”

The agency also specializes in couples or adults only resorts that offer unique accommodations, such as tree houses, over-the-water huts on stilts, tented camps whilst on safari, castles, bungalows with private plunge pools, and more.

According to Augerinos, the current trend is for newlyweds to defer the honeymoon by three to six months. And most couples are forgoing the traditional bridal registry, instead opting for a honeymoon registry where their guests can buy them experiences during the honeymoon rather than traditional wedding gifts.

Augerinos adds that the average couple honeymoons for ten days:

“Couples are opting to fly as far as possible in order to visit somewhere they would never foresee themselves visiting ever again,” he explains. “Also, couples are traveling according to their specific interests. No longer do they want to just lie on a beach, they want to do things and collect unique experiences only found at that particular destination.”

Augerinos observes that social media can be a big influence:

“Many couples choose the destination or hotel based on an incredible image they saw on Instagram.  Judging by the images they share, couples seem to be in an unofficial competition with each other as to whose honeymoon was the most epic!”

And the current honeymoon hotspots for 2019? According to Augerinos’ expert opinion, those would be the Azores, Sri Lanka, Anguilla, Japan, Uganda, and Sumba Island.
